Are you aware that you can actually use your previous JAMB profile code to register for this year’s UTME? Here is a simple guide on how to correctly do this.
Latest JAMB news reaching us today, is that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the complete guide for UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates on how to generate their UTME profile code and how they can purchase e-Pin both for new and previously used phone number.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Actually, candidates who had previously registered for jamb can use their previously used Numbers for JAMB Registration. However, the phone number can only be re-used by the same Candidate (Not another candidate).
Most of the UTME registration centers I’ve attended always disclosed that candidates are not allowed to use a previously used Phone number/email to create a JAMB profile.
Well, today, we want to totally trash and debunk that rumor, because candidates can actually do this. A previous Used Number is a GSM Telephone Number (SIM) which is used for JAMB Profile Code Creation, e-PIN Vending and Registration in Previous Registration Exercises.
Take note that this can be used for the 2021 JAMB UTME Registration and MUST BE USED ONLY BY THE SAME CANDIDATE.
However, the secret here is that Candidate who is using his/her previous number for the second or third time to purchase a UTME form, will be required to use the same profile code to purchase the new e-PIN.
For example, if the previous UTME Profile Code has been forgotten, the candidate can send RESEND to 55019 and he/she will receive the old Profile Code.
What this means is that an old JAMB profile Code can be used again by the same candidate to purchase a new e-PIN. This entails that there is absolutely no need for a new profile code.
However, it is important to note here that candidate cannot change names by using sending CORRECT Surname Firstname Middlename on this existing number, because this Profile has already been tied to the existing phone number (typically done before Registration)
To retrieve your UTME ePIN after purchasing it, simply send via sms, UTMEPIN to 55019 (for UTME candidates) while for Direct Entry (DE) candidates, send as sms, DEPIN to 55019 to retrieve 2020 UTME e-PIN after e-PIN purchase.
Candidate should note that after purchasing the ePIN, they can register at any approved and accredited JAMB CBT Center with the existing Profile (e-Mail, Telephone Number, Profile code) which cannot be changed.
Note that the existing Profile or already used number cannot be transferred to another candidate, it must be used by the same candidate.
USING NEW NUMBER FOR PROFILE CODE CREATION.
UTME aspiring candidates who wish to create JAMB profile code using a never-before-used phone number, can use the normal pattern of Registration as prescribed and advertised.
It is very important to note here, that candidates will be able to register as normal by sending their Surname Firstname Middlename to 55019 as an SMS.
Candidates using a new Unique GSM number for JAMB profile code registration will be able to send CORRECT to 55019 in case of error, so they can correct it, before using it for UTME Registration. Once you used the profile code to register for JAMB, you won’t be able to correct the error again.
Candidates who might have lost their Profile code can retrieve the newly generated Profile Code by sending RESEND to 55019 via SMS.
Candidates can purchase the e-PIN from any accredited outlet using newly generated Profile code as usual.
Once again, it is important to note here, that UTME candidates can get their ePIN by sending UTMEPIN to 55019 or for Direct Entry candidates, send DEPIN to 55019 after purchasing of e-PIN to retrieve lost e-PIN.
