  • When you request a JAMB profile code for yourself using your Simcard, make sure you have N50 (Fifty Naira) airtime and above in your Simcard.
  • Ensure the phone number you’re using to create the JAMB profile code has never been used before to create the JAMB profile. (This is important, especially for candidates who have previously registered JAMB).
  • The same warning goes for the email address you’ll be using, ensure you have not used the email address to previously create a JAMB profile. This is to ensure your profile is not entangled.

How to Create JAMB Profile 2024.

You are advised to create your UTME profile with a valid and unique GSM Number that has never been used before and that you have 100% access to. Because all vital information will be sent to the GSM Number you supply during your JAMB profile creation.

1. The JAMB board has disclosed that all candidates who will be registering for the 2024 JAMB examination, should note that the use of a Unique phone (mobile) number (SIM) for the process of registration is mandatory. The unique phone number can be used by one candidate only.

Important Note: The phone number (SIM) remains your unique identification for all your transactions with the board for present and future transactions/applications).

2. During the process of registration, each candidate is required to send his/her National Identification Number (NIN) by text (SMS) to 55019 or 66019 from his/her personal GSM number e.g by writing the word “NIN” then space and add your 11 digit NIN Number and send it to 55019 or 66019 in this format (NIN 00123456789).

Take note that when you are sending the message, there should be a space between the word “NIN” and your 11-digit NIN (Endeavor that the number must not have been used by another candidate to register for his/her UTME/DE in the past). Make sure that you do not use postpaid or special bundle SIM cards to register for the examination.

These types of sim cards usually don’t work, unless they are specially loaded with credit.

Every candidate (both UTME and DE) should endeavour to check their data with Nimc to ensure that their details correspond with their details before creating a JAMB Profile, because you cannot make changes to important details, such as:

  • Change Of Name,
  • Date Of Birth.

However, for the 2024 JAMB registration, changes in Data By NIMC will be updated on the JAMB records. However, Replaced Data Shall Be Tracked And Reflected As a Footnote on the Candidate’s Profile.

3. During your profile registration, a Profile Code of 10 characters will be sent to all candidates on the same telephone (SIM) number they provided during registration. It is important to note here that all returning candidates from previous years (That is, candidates who registered in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023), will still receive the same profile code on the same number they used during registration.

Finally, take note that the profile remains the same for the candidate for present and future applications with the JAMB Board.

4. Finally, the phone number used to receive the JAMB profile code, is automatically tied to the candidate’s 2024 application, Examination and Admission. CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE AND ALWAYS REMEMBER THE SIM NUMBER USED. IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATION WITH THE JAMB BOARD.

IMPORTANT TIPS: Candidates should note that by obtaining UTME/DE application documents, a candidate has accepted to receive text messages from the JAMB official Number, which is 55019 or 66019) even when the “do not disturb” (dnd) is activated.

5. The candidate will present the profile code at the point of procurement of the form (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners). An ePIN is then sent as a text message to the candidate’s Phone number.

6. The candidate will present the ePIN and profile code at any JAMB-accredited CBT Centre for registration.

7. The application cannot be completed until the candidate’s biometrics (all ten fingers) are captured and a photograph taken physically (No submission of passport photograph). The successful capture of biometrics and photographs will authorise a candidate to print his/her e-registration slip (Candidate must use at least two fingers; any of the two can be used to print his/her registration slip. The fingerprint verification shall be required for any further transaction with JAMB on the candidate’s profile.

8. Only candidates whose biometrics verification is successful on examination day will be permitted to sit the UTME. No parent or any proxy is allowed to make any transaction on the candidates’ profile.

9. Candidates with biometric challenges can only register at JAMB headquarters in Abuja. Arrangements should be made for this through JAMB-state offices. Candidates with biometric challenges would sit the examination in Abuja on the last day of the national examination calendar.

“It is not acceptable by the JAMB BOARD for more than two persons to use a single GSM number in their JAMB Registration. The way it is configured, the JAMB portal is built to only recognise one phone number to one JAMB profile, and that telephone number will remain exclusive to that single individual for the entire examination process. Not even brothers and sisters answering the same surname are allowed to share a particular telephone number for this purpose.”
